Doing a sequel is a tricky thing no matter what industry you are in, but especially for games and movies. The sequel would either be extremely successful or an absolute flop, and there is no in between. This is because if the prequel was already successful, and chances are that it is if it is being commissioned for a sequel, there is already a pretty solid group of fans and some keen eyes that are looking at what the sequel will be. These people are definitely all ready to criticize the sequel since that is what sequels are expected to be. If they love the sequel, then of course it will be a completely pleasant surprise.
Granny: Chapter Two is not exactly a sequel, and yet the game left no room for errors. It is a great downloadable content especially if the first game was a bit short for you. You will definitely not be disappointed with this one. Right now, it is being marketed as a separate game from Granny since it now has different downloads on application platforms. Nevertheless, it really does feel like an extension of its predecessor and a pretty good one at that. Some ‘sequels’ are often criticized for not being true to its origins but you will find none of that in Granny: Chapter Two. In fact, we dare say that it is basically an enhanced version of the game because of the added antagonist as well as different missions.
It might be a mere extension, but Granny: Chapter Two is definitely rolling in great reviews on both the Play Store and the App Store. The ratings for both stores are actually 4.4 stars out of five based on more almost 700 thousand reviews. To quote some of the comments, “Granny 1 was amazing, Granny 2 was even better, a rarity in sequels”, “this is one of the best games I’ve ever played in my whole life”, “Absolutely love it! If you are a fan of the first Granny and has finished literally every mode of the game, then you might find this downloadable content slash game extension the next best thing; or rather, a better thing. Granny: Chapter Two is basically the quality of a sequel that you wish your favourite superhero movie had, or the second chapter that that fantastic open world role playing game deserved. It is not a spinoff, but rather, a direct port with scarier, more interesting, and definitely more fun than Granny without disrespecting or being far from its origins.
